Johnson City Commission appoints 29 to public boards, committees

The Johnson City commission has appointed 29 community members to serve on the city's public boards and committees. Most notably, the board of commissioners appointed former Johnson City Mayor John Hunter to serve on the BrightRidge board. Hunter resigned from his post as mayor in September after a video spread on social media of him appearing disoriented and stumbling downtown. There is still one vacancy on the Board of Building Codes for a qualified plumbing contractor or mechanical/gas contractor. City commissioners approved the appointments in a unanimous vote Thursday.
