Washington County's Got TEEN Talent celebrates student performers

The Jackson Theatre hosted its first Washington County's Got TEEN Talent, featuring student acts spanning music, dance and roller skating. Presented in partnership with 4thirTEEN, the Jackson Theatre, the Town of Jonesborough, Washington County Schools, Johnson City Schools and the McKinney Center, the event featured performances from students in grades 9 through 12, representing schools across the region, including David Crockett High School, Daniel Boone High School, University High, Providence Academy and homeschool programs. The evening highlighted a wide range of talent and brought the community together for a night of encouragement, entertainment and support for local students, according to a press release from The Jackson Theatre. Emily Brown from David Crockett High School won first place with a roller skating performance, Lily Dolinger of David Crockett High School followed in second place and Joy Pridemore of Daniel Boone High School finished in third. Winners received gift buckets along with cash prizes sponsored through the event, with first place receiving $250, second place receiving $175 and third place receiving $75, according to the release. Event organizers recognized donors and community supporters who helped make the event possible, including Pamela Pope, Realtor/Broker with EXIT Realty Tri-Cities, Belinda Keiner, the Schubert Club and 4thirTEEN. Admission to the event was free, and guests were encouraged to bring non-perishable canned food items to support those in need within the local community, according to the release. Organizers also thanked all of the students who participated, along with the event partners, volunteers and community members who helped make the event such a success. Plans are already underway for next year's Washington County's Got TEEN Talent, with more details and dates to be announced in the future, according to the release.
