King Commons continues to be a cornerstone for community events, while the West Walnut Street Corridor Project is now completed and creating an intentional connection between ETSU and our downtown businesses. The growth isn't limited to the city's core. New housing developments across Washington County are meeting the needs of a growing population while preserving the region's natural scenery and sense of place. Jonesborough, Gray and Boones Creek have all seen a boom recently. Innovation in Healthcare and Education Anchored by ETSU, Ballad Health, and an expanding network of research partnerships, Johnson City continues to strengthen its reputation as a healthcare and education leader. With ETSU's innovation ambitions and Ballad Health's new research initiatives fostering collaboration across disciplines we are turning local talent into regional advantage. These institutions not only bring high-skilled jobs but also attract students, medical professionals, and researchers from across the country. Infrastructure and Future Investment Washington County leaders are investing strategically in the area's infrastructure including broadband expansion and transportation improvements to ensure the county is prepared for sustainable, long-term growth.
