Jonesborough Kiwanis hosts 56th Annual Spaghetti Fundraiser

A beloved Jonesborough tradition returns Feb. 28 as the Kiwanis Club invites the community to gather for a warm meal and a good cause. The Jonesborough Kiwanis Club will host its 56th Annual Jonesborough Kiwanis Spaghetti Supper on Saturday, Feb. 28, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the David Crockett High School cafeteria, according to a release from the Jonesborough Kiwanis Club. The event continues a community tradition that has spanned more than five decades. Guests can enjoy an all-you-can-eat meal featuring the club's spaghetti with homemade sauce, salad, Texas toast and dessert cakes. Dessert is provided by volunteers from the Jonesborough Senior Center, according to the release. Proceeds from the spaghetti supper directly support the Jonesborough Kiwanis Club's mission of serving children and families throughout Washington County. Funds raised help sustain a wide range of programs and services focused on youth development, education and community well-being, according to the release. Club members encourage residents to attend, enjoy a meal and support these ongoing efforts. The event will be accessible for attendees of all ages, with ample parking available at the high school and entry through the main entrance, where greeters will welcome guests, according to the release. Carry-out service will be offered at designated parking spaces in front of the building, with a special area set aside for guests needing assistance. Tickets will be available at the door for those who have not purchased in advance, with prices set at $10 for adults and $5 for children under the age of 8, according to the release. Adding to the festive atmosphere, members of the David Crockett Key Club will provide assistance throughout the evening, providing table service with smiles and attentive care. Their involvement not only helps ensure smooth service but also highlights the strong partnership between local youth organizations and the Kiwanis Club, according to the release. While winter weather can sometimes be unpredictable, event organizers are optimistic. According to the club's light-hearted "prognosticator," fair weather and good company are expected, making the evening an ideal opportunity to visit with friends and neighbors while enjoying a warm meal.
