Planning commission advances subdivision, site plan for storage facility

New development plans moved forward in Jonesborough with approvals tied to housing and commercial storage projects. The Jonesborough Planning Commission approved a final plat for the Saylor's Ridge Subdivision and revised site plans for the Bradford Park, a self storage development, during its December meeting. The Saylor's Ridge Subdivision proposal covers 23.35 acres and includes 19 residential lots and a new public street, Parker Court, off Hairetown Road, according to the commission agenda. The property lies outside the town's corporate limits but within the planning commission's jurisdiction, placing subdivision authority with the town. All lots exceed the minimum 15,000 square foot requirement and will be served by public water with individual private septic systems, according to the agenda. The commission also approved a revised site plan and grading permit security for the Bradford Park Self Storage development off Presidential Drive, according to the agenda. The site plan was previously approved in August 2024, but design changes were submitted for consideration. Revisions include splitting one large building into two buildings on Lot A, adding a large climate controlled building on Lot B, and realigning buildings to increase parking and accommodate a fire lane, according to the agenda. Lot A contains approximately 1.8 acres and Lot B approximately 3.8 acres, with the property zoned B 3 within the town limits. The revised plan includes two 60 by 150 foot commercial warehouse buildings on Lot A and multiple self storage units along with a 260 by 160 foot climate controlled storage building on Lot B, according to the agenda. The commission approved the revised site plan and grading permit security, according to the agenda. The next Jonesborough Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Jan. 20, at the Jonesborough Town Hall, 123 Boone St.
