Zella Simpson, 63, Gray, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. Simpson was a native of Yancey County, NC and had lived in Washington County, TN most of her life.
She was a daughter of the late Fred and Maude Peterson Honeycutt and was also preceded in death by sisters, Nell Greene, Ohio, Irene Shell, Johnson City and Wanda Watson, Johnson City and brothers, Jay E. Honeycutt, Johnson City and Stanley Honeycutt, Johnson City.
Mrs. Simpson was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church, Johnson City and enjoyed her grandchildren and gospel music.
She was married to the” Love” of her life and “best buddy,” Leroy Simpson, in Gate City, VA, forty-eight years ago.
In addition to her husband, she leaves two sons, Randall Simpson and his wife, Lisa, Jonesborough, Roy “Bo” Simpson and his wife, Cindy, Elizabethton; one daughter, Sandra Muse and her husband, Chris, Johnson City; three sisters, Earlene McClellan, Ohio, Norma McInturff, Johnson City and Loraine Babb, Johnson City; three brothers, Larry Honeycutt, South Carolina, Fred Junior Honeycutt, Johnson City and Mike Honeycutt, Johnson City; grandchildren, Savannah Simpson, Johnson City, Dakota Simpson, Elizabethton and Noah Simpson, Elizabethton and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 28, 2011 from 5:00 PM until and Celebration of Life Service at 7:00 PM at Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services, Johnson City, TN. Reverend Steve Davis will officiate. Committal services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Washington County Memory Gardens.
Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 AM. Active pallbearers will be Dakota Simpson, Noah Simpson, Robbie Brewer, Chris Muse, Matthew Dickey, Daniel Hopson and Logan Mikeal. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Miller and Mike Wilson.
