Mr. and Mrs. James Day of Johnson City, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, July 29, 2011, at Peerless Restaurant.
Mr. Day retired from Bama Inc.
Mrs. Day is the former Sara Jane Anderson.
She retired from Mountain States Health Alliance.
The couple have three children, Robin Day, Winston-Salem, N.C.; Beth Good, Huntsville, Ala.; and Emily Whynot, Johnson City.; and three grandchildren.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Furman University, Greenville, S.C., and a graduate of University of Tennessee Medical School, Memphis.
Her fiancé is a graduate of Gannon University, Erie, Pa., and a graduate of Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green, Ky.
The couple plan a September wedding.
Mr. and Mrs. Chapman
Mr. and Mrs. Preston Chapman of Johnson City will celebrate their 50th anniversary Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at a reception at 2 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, Johnson City.
The couple were married on Aug. 6, 1961, in Latonia, Ky., by the Rev. Earl Ashley, grandfather of the bride.
Mr. Chapman is owner of and retired from Preston’s Auto Repair.
Mrs. Chapman is the former Betty Ashley. She is retired from the Johnson City Medical Center.
The couple have three children, Teri Hurt and husband the Rev. Curtis Hurt of Johnson City, Scott Chapman and wife Sarah of Jonesborough, and Dustin Chapman and wife C. Ann of Jonesborough; six grandchildren, Ashley, Brittney, McKenzi, Tyler, Zoe and Suzanna; and four great-grandchildren, Landrie, Chapman, Brody and Olivia.
The celebration is open to family and friends.
The couple request no gifts.
Jennica LeeAnn Lyons and Mark Andrew Norman were married Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Oak Grove Christian Church, Elizabethton.
The Rev. Kenneth Bewley and Dr. Ted Thomas officiated the 5 p.m. exchange of vows.
Music was provided by Dr. Michael Wolf, violinist.
The bride is a daughter of Mark and Sheila Lyons, Johnson City.
She is a granddaughter of Herbert and Ann Greer, Watauga, and the late Bill and Blanche Lyons.
The groom is a son of Mark and Karen Norman, Johnson City.
He is a grandson of Wilma Kitzmiller, Johnson City, and the late William Kitzmiller, and the late Elwood and Bettie Sue Norman.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father.
Maid of honor was Kay Elsea. Bridesmaids were Stephanie Davis, Sarah Weddle and Kayla Wilson.
Flower girl was Emma Smalling, the bride’s niece. Ring bearer was Blayne Morris.
The groom’s father served as best man.
Groomsmen were Eric Norman, brother of the groom; Josh Smalling, brother of the bride; and Austin Stone.
Ushers were Denton Alexander and Josh Phillips. Guest-book attendants were Leah Elsea and Mary Weddle.
Following a reception at Chambers Pavilion at Oak Grove Christian Church, the couple took a wedding trip to Cancún, Mexico.

The Honorable Judge Trenton Brown III officiated the 4 p.m. exchange of vows.
The bride is a daughter of John and Jodi Webb of Milledgeville. She is a granddaughter of Judy Bailey of Milledgeville; Claude Bailey of Woodbury, Ga.; Rita Webb of Soperton, Ga.; and the late John Webb Sr.
The groom is a son of Terry and Richard Stephens of Jonesborough, and the late Richard Teague. He is a grandson of Maude Teague of Jonesborough; the late James Teague; and the late Madalene and Denvil Vanhoose.
Escorted by her son, Joey Hood, the bride wore an ivory ballroom-style dress with pearl beading and a tulle skirt.
Matron of honor was Jennifer Thompson Valdyke. Bridesmaids were Olivia Abbey, Margo Gaskins, Megan Hanse and Cynthia Rice.
Flower girls were Emmi Gaskins and Kiera Fields. Ring bearer was Joey Hood.
Brian Lilly served as best man.
Groomsmen were Richard Stephens, Kyle Stephens and Troy Stephens.
Following a reception at the arboretum, the couple took a wedding trip to Helen, Ga.
