ELIZABETHTON — A late morning crash near the intersection of West Elk Avenue and McArthur Street in Elizabethton on Monday appears to have been caused by a medical problem, according to Capt. Shannon Peters of the Elizabethton Police Department.
Peters said Jack Bailey, 71, Elizabethton, suffered an apparent seizure while driving on West Elk Avenue.
Peters said Bailey’s Dodge van veered off the road, struck a concrete culvert and overturned.
Peters said Bailey did not appear to have injuries from the accident, but he was transported to the Johnson City Medical Center due to the medical problem that apparently caused the accident.
