WOODBURY (AP) — Two inmates who escaped from the Cannon County jail have been captured in Woodbury, not far from where they cut through a fence in the jail's recreation area.
Authorities caught 31-year-old Aubrey Sanders around 11 p.m. on Wednesday night after searching for him near the water treatment plant. WSMV-TV in Nashville reported the other inmate, 31-year-old James Hill, was caught about an hour earlier in downtown Woodbury behind a drug store.
Sanders had only been in jail for since last weekend on drug charges, but Hill had been jailed since March on an attempted murder charge.
Cannon County Sheriff Darrell Young said the inmates cut through a fence in the reaction area and escaped around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
