KNOXVILLE — Authorities in Knoxville have taken a 15-year-old boy into custody, but have not filed charges after a Facebook posting about the Connecticut school shooting.
Knox County District Attorney Randy Nichols told The Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/ZP9b7N ) he had not yet decided whether to charge the youth, whose posting included a picture of a victim of the mass shooting in Newtown, Conn., and the comment that "this could happen here."
Police spokesman Darrell DeBusk said a woman in Connecticut who saw it online called the Knoxville Police Department on Sunday.
DeBusk said the teen was on probation for a previous violation and juvenile court officials ordered additional counseling for him after he was taken into custody.
