A Johnson City woman was charged with theft and forgery Wednesday, according to a police news release.
Johnson City police charged Kathy Herceg, 42, 103 W. Locust St., with two counts of forgery under $500 and three counts of theft of property under $500.
According to police, the charges stem from two checks being cashed at a bank that were later returned due to the account being closed.
Herceg was being held in the Washington County Detention Center on $5,000 bond.
Her hearing was scheduled to have been held Thursday.
