Let’s work together to clothe children

Published March 8, 2013

Once again, our community has responded to the needs of our children by donating items to Operation Love to help keep our children warm during these cold winter months.

We received 86 hats, 54 pairs of gloves and 18 scarves that were delivered to students in Washington County and Johnson City schools.

We are deeply grateful for this outpouring of love.

For those who missed out on this opportunity, we will be repeating the hats and gloves project in September and October to prepare for the cold weather next winter.

Our current project is designed to put a little sunshine in our children’s summer by the donation of new summer shirts, shorts and flip-flops for boys and girls.

It was brought to our attention that many children in the summer programs have clothing needs that can be met by our donations.

We hope you will help meet these needs by dropping off your donations at Atlantis, 242 E. Main St., Johnson City; Monday through Saturday, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.; and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m.

For information on how you can participate in current or future projects, please call me at 434-2206.
