Decision on state health care exchange is political play by GOP

Published January 9, 2013

Gov. Bill Haslam says, “If conditions warrant in the future and it makes sense at a later date for Tennessee to run the (health care) exchange, we would consider that as an option at the appropriate time.”

Translation: “We will consider doing something when the Republicans are back in the White House and not before.”

“No way are we going to do anything to help people get health care if President Obama will get the credit.”

“People can just continue to suffer.”

One commentator said it best on election night after the results were in, “We the people don’t like the way the politicians are playing party lines, so let’s throw the bums back into office.”

We, the voters, are to blame for expecting anything different from the same incumbents.
