
Margaret N. Stewart, a resident of Colonial Hill Retirement Center, died Friday, March 15, at Johnson City Medical Center Hospital after a brief illness.
Miss Stewart, a native of Rye Cove, Virginia, was the daughter of Frank and Emma Fugate Stewart. She attended Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Virginia, graduated from Longwood College in Farmville Virginia, and received a Master’s degree from the University of Kentucky.
She retired in 1989 from teaching in the College of Business and Technology at East Tennessee State University after 33 years service. Before coming to ETSU, she taught business courses in Tennessee and Virginia.
She was a member of Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Monday Club of Johnson City.
Miss Stewart is survived by cousins residing in Tennessee, Virginia and North Carolina and many close friends in Johnson City.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 19, at 1:30 P.M. at Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church, corner of Roan and Market Streets, with Rev. Douglas Grove-DeJarnett presiding.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 P.M.
Burial will follow at Holston View Cemetery in Weber City, Virginia.
