Mrs. Mary Keene Lane, age 85, of Johnson City, passed away Friday, February 15, 2013, at the Asbury Place, Johnson City.
Mrs. Lane was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late John Nelson Keen Sr. and Ida Mae Keene. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy J. Lane; one sister, Pauline Keene Kilgore; one brother, John Nelson Keene Jr.; one cousin, Evelyn Loudy.
Mrs. Lane was a 1945 graduate of Science Hill High School. She was the past President of the Northside PTA, Johnson City Little League and past secretary of the Hilltoppers Sports Club.
She had retired from Sears in 1991, where she had worked for forty years as Personnel Manager, Merchandise Manager and Sales Manager.
Survivors include one son, Ron Lane and his wife, Regina, of Johnson City; one grandson, Alan Lane, of Johnson City; two-step grandchildren, Shannon Mannis and Justin Hensley; one niece, Janice Spillman.
The funeral service for Mary Keene Lane will be conducted at 2 PM Monday, February 18, 2013, in the Central Baptist Church. Dr. Ron Murray will officiate.
The graveside committal service will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be the William Rigell Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 2 PM at the church prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Central Baptist Church Music Department, 300 N. Roan Street, Johnson City, Tn. 37601.
