Funeral service for Phyllis Marie Rigsby Francis will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013, at North Trenholm Baptist Church, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park Serenity Garden.

The family will receive friends from 10 until 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.

Mrs. Francis died Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at her home. Born February 16, 1935, in Johnson City Tenn., she will be laid to rest on her 78th birthday.

The daughter of the late Hurley and Ina Rigsby, she was raised strong in family and faith in God, surrounded by nine loving brothers and sisters.

Phyllis was a member of North Trenholm Baptist Church in Columbia. She enjoyed working with the children’s kindergarten at her church for many years. She loved hearing songs and hymns performed by the children as well as the Music Ministry at North Trenholm. Her humor brought joy to her beloved family members and friends.

She is survived by two sons, Jeff Francis and Allen Francis, daughter-in-law, Lydia “Babe” Francis, grandson, Jeffrey Francis, all of Columbia; granddaughter, Blair Francis, of Austin, Texas; and three sisters, Margie Harwood, Sarah Bell Rigsby, both of Texas, and Evelyn Harwood, of Tennessee.
