
Mrs. Georgia Francis, age 91, Jonesborough, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013, at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. Francis was a native of Washington County and daughter of the late Lige & Cordia McKinney Gouge. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Francis was also preceded in death by her husband, Gudger Francis; step-daughters, Dorothy Swafford and Velma Compton; two brothers, Fred Gouge and Roy Gouge; and one sister, Goldie Hyder.
She was a member of Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Francis was a Homemaker and had worked at Klopman Mills and ITT.
Survivors include three sons, Danny Francis, Raymond Francis and Ronnie Francis, all of Jonesborough; one daughter, Betty Maine, Jonesborough; grandchildren, Judy Underhill, John Francis, T.J. Maine, Amy Maine, Chad Francis and Hannah Francis; great-grandchildren, Audri, Autumn, Austin, Tyler, Dillian, Braedon and Boston; two sisters, Lena Mae Plank, Piney Flats, and Sally Kyker, Jonesborough.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Perry Cleek officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2013, at Maple Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Francis, Chad Francis, T.J. Maine, Robert Blevins, Gary Smith, Rodney Metcalf and Freddie Malone. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Gouge, Johnny Plank and Larry Gouge.
