Ruth Ann Cunningham

Ruth Ann Cunningham, 81, Gray, TN, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and many loved ones, Wednesday at her son’s residence.

Mrs. Cunningham was a native of Evansville, IN, and a daughter of the late Rev. Otis and Lillian Davis Overlin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Bob Cunningham, in February 2003; a granddaughter, Ashley Marie; and one sister, Mary Margaret Phillips.

Mrs. Cunningham was a retired elementary school teacher and taught in both public and Christian schools. She was a proud graduate of Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC.

Mrs. Cunningham was a member of Boones Creek Bible Church, where she served as church pianist and taught a Ladies Sunday school class. She enjoyed traditional, old hymns and loved playing the piano and was a church pianist for 65 years, serving with her father, husband and now her son who all were ministers.

Mrs. Cunningham leaves one son, Pastor Dale Cunningham and his wife, Denise, Johnson City; two granddaughters, Whitney Pendell, Greer, SC, and Allison Cunningham, Greer, SC; and many dear friends.

A Committal and Graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013, at 1:00 PM in Dahlonega Memorial Park, Dahlonega, GA. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 12:50 PM.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday at 3:00 PM at Boones Creek Bible Church with Mrs. Cunningham’s son, Pastor Dale Cunningham, officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Boones Creek Bible Church Music Fund at 1528 Old Gray Station Road, Johnson City, TN 37615.
