ERWIN — Donald Lee Johnson, age 67, of Erwin, went home to be with the Lord at 3:35 a.m. Monday, January 14, 2013, at the Johnson City Medical Center.

He was a lifelong resident of Erwin, a son of the late E. Lee and Martha Magness Johnson.

Mr. Johnson was retired from CSX Transportation. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.

Mr. Johnson was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Linda Hopson Johnson; one brother, Thomas L. Johnson and wife, Linda; three nephews, Byron, Troy, Brett and their wives and children; one niece, Lauren; brother-in-law, Mark Hopson and wife, Emma.

Funeral service for Mr. Johnson will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, January 16, 2013, from the Erwin Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Jerry Willis will officiate.

Entombment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
