
ELIZABETHTON — Larry Madison Taunton, 70, Elizabethton passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2012 in the Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Columbus, Georgia, he was a son of the late Joseph & Dorothy Christopher Taunton.
He had lived in Carter County for a number of years. He was a retired Tech. Sgt. with the United States Air Force. He also had worked at Corrugated Containers. He was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Larry Taunton, Jr., his 1st wife Linda Taunton and his 2nd wife Helen Perry Taunton.
Survivors include Two Daughters: Laurie Plumley of Oregon and April Taunton of North Carolina. Four Grandsons: Drew & Lucas Hopkins, Matthew Taunton and Daniel Ball. Two Granddaughters: Kristin Taunton and Emily Ball. Three Step-Sons: Roy, Jerry and Clarence Perry. Two Step-Daughters: Sonya Perkins and Elizabeth Ester.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2012 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with The Rev. Harry Shaefer officiating.
Graveside Service and Interment will be at 1 p.m. Monday, December 31, 2012 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery.
Pallbearers and Military Honors will be provided by Shaw Air Force Base, Sumpter, South Carolina.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. Monday to go to the cemetery.
