A Jonesborough man was arrested Monday on a charge that he stole steel from his employer and sold it for scrap.

Aaron Thomas Taylor, 34, 787 Old Embreeville Road, was accused of taking stainless steel from Borla Exhaust Inc. while employed there from Oct. 17, 2011, until Feb. 8 of this year.

Police said Taylor stole stainless steel used in auto parts production and took it to area scrap businesses, where it was sold.

Charged with theft of property over $1,000, Taylor was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $10,000 bond. A Sessions Court appearance was set for April 4.

Did anyone think "Borla Steel" wasnt just lying around in someone's back yard? These buyers need to have some responsibility to report!

If he showed that he was an employee there, the buyer may have thought he was authorized to dispose of it. If it was just some guy who stole it I can see your point.

The buyers probably did report. That's probably how much the know he stole.
