Unicoi man killed when pickup crashes into creek

UNICOI — A single-vehicle accident that occurred early Saturday morning in Unicoi County claimed the life of a Unicoi man.

According to the report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the Chevy S14 driven by John J. Abraham, 61, of Unicoi, was traveling south on Unicoi Drive when it exited the left side of the roadway near the intersection with Robert Garland Lane.

The report states the vehicle went airborne into a creek and came to rest under a nearby bridge. Abraham was killed on impact, the report states.

The report states the accident occurred a around 4 a.m. Saturday.
