ELIZABETHTON — The Carter County Sheriff's Department cleaned up a dump site for a methamphetamine laboratory on Thursday afternoon. No arrests were made as a result of the discovery of the dump site and subsequent clean up.

Deputy Isaac Rhea reported the dump site was discovered by a man had his daughter who were walking the trail where the East Tennessee Railway once ran. The site was near the intersection of Cedar Grove Road and Greenlee Road.

Rhea said the items included a gallon can of Coleman fuel, two containers of salt, drain cleaner, a pack of coffee filters and a small propane can.

Sgt. Harman Duncan came to the scene and removed the items from the property. He said the location had not been a working meth lab and no toxic chemicals were found at the scene.
