A Johnson City woman was arrested Friday on a charge that she lied to police when she reported that her vehicle had been stolen from a restaurant parking lot.

Kimberly Denise Hartley, 40, 2826 Emory Lane, was charged with false reporting.

Police said Hartley filed a report stating that her vehicle had been stolen on Feb. 10 from the Hardee's parking lot at 2102 W. Market St. Police later learned that Hartley provided false information and that her vehicle had not been stolen.

Hartley was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $5,000 bond pending a Sessions Court appearance Tuesday.
