A Johnson City man was arrested Thursday following an investigation into an assault of a Johnson City woman, according to a police press release.

According to the release, Robert L. Esquilin, 27, 1185 W. Mountainview Road, was charged with sexual assault after he allegedly assaulted a woman on Jan. 12.

Esquilin was taken to the Washington County Detention Center and was being held on $50,000 bond.

He is scheduled to appear in Sessions Court Friday at 9 a.m.
