A Whitesburg man faced multiple charges after an incident early Sunday at a Johnson City nightspot, police said.
Matthew N. Drinnon, 30, 126 Greenview Drive, Whitesburg, was charged with aggravated domestic assault, resisting arrest and public intoxication following an investigation at Electric Cowboy, 1805 N. Roan St.
Police said Drinnon assaulted and choked a female victim at the bar. He was intoxicated and resisted arrest, according to the police report.
He was being held at the Washington County Detention Center on $16,000 bond.

It's obvious from the cuts and bruises on this guys face that he was beaten into submission because he resisted arrest. I attended the FLETC(Federal Law Enforcement Training Center) prior to becoming a law enforcement officer and we were taught how to subdue an uncooperative suspect without beating on him. I served thirty five years and never beat a suspect but I arrested many who did not want to go. I did shoot a couple who were shooting at me but that is a different story.

If someone resists arrest, who cares if the person has bruises? I don't! And when did we start caring about a few bruises when someone is resisting arrest and not worried about the victim he allegedly choked? My, my, my no wonder things are so messed up. Ugh!

I agree. I like to see bruises on a scumbag like this who was assaulting a female. If I were a policeman, a low-life like this resisting arrest would give me permission to pound on him a little. Maybe he will think twice next time.

I am glad there are some cops that hold to higher standards. Beating up you're handcuffd suspect is a good way to make youre self a target.The police are to uphold the law not administer punishment. Arby thank you for youre service and thank you for haveing higher standards then some of youre peers.A good cop will always have my respect, the rest are no better than those they arrest.
