Johnson City firefighters were called out on two small fires Thursday.

According to news releases from the Johnson City Fire Department, firefighters were called to the Mall at Johnson City around 2 p.m. when a security guard noticed light smoke in a service corridor.

Firefighters found a small fire in the wall of that corridor. The wall was opened and the fire quickly extinguished.

Only a few businesses were evacuated but business resumed in 30 minutes.

Only minimal damage occurred.

The other fire happened at 504 E. Ninth Ave. because heavy wet snow caused a short circuit of the service line coming into the home.

The small fire was extinguished.

No injuries were reported at either fire.
