A Johnson City man was arrested Thursday following an investigation into two reports filed on March 4, 2011, that alleged a man brandished a gun and robbed two local businesses, according to a police press release.

According to the release, Joshua Crabtree, 23, 604 Swadley Road, No. 5, was charged with two counts of aggravated robbery after he allegedly robbed an Appco, 2300 S. Greenwood Drive, and a Roadrunner Market, 1310 Cherokee Road.

Zachariah Young filed a report concerning the robbery at Appco and said Crabtree left with $53. James Deakins filed the second report about the robbery at Roadrunner Market and said Crabtree left the store with $72. On Wednesday, Crabtree reportedly called the Washington County Detention Center wanting to speak with an investigator and admitted to committing both robberies.

Crabtree was incarcerated at the center and is being held without bond.

He is scheduled to appear in Sessions Court on Thursday at 9 a.m. and in Criminal Court on Jan. 28 at 9 a.m.
