A domestic dispute led Johnson City police to arrest a 32-year-old man this morning on charges that he assaulted his girlfriend.

Gerardo Soto, 32, was charged with aggravated domestic assault.

Police were called to 1899 Knob Creek Road about 3 a.m. and learned Soto had assaulted his 34-year-old girlfriend "by aggravated means," police said in a news release.

Police found Soto at the intersection of South Roan and Maple Street about 40 minutes later and took him into custody.

He was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $22,000 bond with arraignment scheduled Thursday in Sessions Court.
