KINGSPORT — A 63-year-old Kingsport woman has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly firing a gun at her son and later claiming she was attempting to scare him away from her home.
The Sullivan County Sheriff's office reports the incident occurred shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday at 144 Brooklawn Drive. The alleged victim told police he was attempting to retrieve some of his belongings from his mother, Wilma Harrison, who would not let him inside.
The man stated that as he walked away from the residence Harrison fired a shot at him with a gun. SCSO Deputies responded, with Harrison reportedly denying having a firearm.

If her looks didn't do enough to scare him away doubt the gun would be more effective!

After losing my son 1 month ago ,I just cannot understand how a mother could ever, ever, try and take her sons life. What I wouldnt give to hug my son and tell him once again that I love him!!!!!

If someone tries to break into your home and take your belongings, they have to expect they might get shot. Doesn't matter if it is your son, cousin, or a stranger.
He was younger than her, stronger than her, and by his admission was trying to take things from her home. She didn't actually shoot him, and I am sure he wasn't "walking away" at the time. Nobody shoots at you when you are walking away. We are not hearing the true full story on either side. It will be interesting to hear what comes out during the trial.

Why is there going to be a trial?
This is something to be settled out of Court.
He stays away from her.
She stays away from him.
If she fired a gun, so what? No one was hurt.
If she has a gun and has a permit. She keeps it.
Waste of Taxpayers' money to have a trial.
Wisdom of Solomon, indeed!

She shouldn't expect a Mother's Day gift.
