Johnson City police arrested two teenagers Wednesday following an investigation into vehicle burglaries.

The arrests came after officers investigated incidents in the Tree Streets area. Michael B. Duncan, 18, 617 Hamilton St., and a 17-year boy were both charged with two counts each of burglary of a motor vehicle.

According to a Johnson City Police Department news release, Duncan and the boy were located in the immediate area of the burglary and one of them possessed items from a burglarized vehicle.

The two were taken to the police station, and officers continued searching for stolen property. With the help of K-9 Marko, officers found more items from the burglarized vehicle as well as a credit card that had been taken from another vehicle burglary in the Tree Streets area, police said.

Duncan was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held on $20,000 bond. He is scheduled for a hearing in Sessions Court on Monday at 9 a.m.

The boy was transported to the Regional Juvenile Detention Center and will later appear in Johnson City Juvenile Court.
