Police have arrested a Kingsport man — previously convicted of sex offenses against a minor in 2006 — after he allegedly raped his 6-month-old child Monday night. Police report the infant also suffered a fractured skull in the incident.
Shawn Lee Wray, 27, 404 Barnette Dr. Lot 47, is charged with one count of aggravated child rape and one count of aggravated child abuse, each Class A felonies carrying between 15 to 60 years imprisonment. He turned himself in to Kingsport police at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Fire Station 7 on Rock Springs Road.
KPD Det. Toby Wells says law enforcement were contacted at approximately 10 p.m. Monday by staff at Holston Valley Medical Center. They were treating a child who had sustained a severe skull fracture and injuries indicative of sexual abuse.

Jail and death are too good for this evil, rotten, twisted monster. I pray this child is sent to another state and raised by a family who will love it and cherish it, the way a child is supposed to be treated. Hopefully it will never know what its disgusting sperm donor did to it. By the way, where was the mother during all this?

O. My. God. I am in shock after reading this article. I don't know if I have ever heard anything so horiffic before. That poor little angel. Who knows what hell the poor thing has been subjected to in it's few months on this earth. The mother should be tied to this pile of dog crap's lap and they should both be strapped into the electric chair and put out of their misery. Just a damn shame he turned himself in before this story went public and some good ole boy found him first. Death is to good for him and the mother as well. I can only hope there is a hotter section of hell for these people.

I'm surprised that so many people are blaming the mother. The article doesn't mention her at all, so it's likely that she was not involved in the abuse or had knowledge of it. She was probably at work or at the store, etc., and had no way to know what this man was capable of. They are both victims, just different kind of victims.
Men who sexually abuse children are experts at hiding their behavior, and often blend well into any environment. They can be school teachers, preachers, police officers, executives, doctors, etc.

SuzieB, people are blaming the mother too because this man has been convicted of child rape before, he is not a first timer, nor is he in the closet anymore {so to speak}. He was outed in 2006 when he was accused, tried, and ultimately convicted of sex offenses against a minor. The mother had to know this, hell she had to know this even before she slept with him and became pregnant with the child. What kind of sick woman has sex with, and becomes pregnant by a child raping monster? Then, to make matters worse, she leaves him alone with her babygirl knowing full well what he is capable of. In my eyes she is just as culpable in this crime as he is. She should be tried for child neglect, and child abuse. She was neglectful, and abusive when she knowingly left that baby alone with a man who is not even supposed to be around children due to his sick, perverse actions, and his felony record as a sex offender.

Castration, there is no jail or therapy that can help this monster. Or any monster of these unspeakable crime if the mother knew of his past, then yes she's as much to blame.
