Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Brackett, Johnson City, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at the Christmas dinner at Buffalo Valley Christian Church, and Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at a family dinner at the Biltmore Inn, Asheville, N.C.

The couple were married on Dec. 8, 1962, at Buffalo Valley Christian Church, Johnson City, by Minister Louis Hall.

Mr. Brackett served in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years, and retired from CSX Railroad as a locomotive engineer after 40 years of service.

Mrs. Brackett is the former Pamela Ann Laws. She is a homemaker and a retired registered nurse, having worked at the Johnson City Memorial Hospital Carter County Hospital as evening supervisor, and the Johnson City Eye Hospital.

The couple have three children, Pamela Holben and husband David, Karen Sherry Brackett and Kenneth Brackett II; and one grandchild, Henry Holben, all of Johnson City.
